Cheesie turns 6

I'm days late posting this, but here goes.....

On Tuesday, my baby turned 6. I hate that.... she's growing up too fast. Thankfully she still snuggles up with us so all is not totally lost. We had family over for dinner and presents that night, and she was quite THRILLED with the camera she received from Grandma and Aunt Christy.

Cheesie has been using Brian's giant, expensive camera, so now she has one for herself. Once we get her the card she'll be in business to start posting on photoblog again.

Today, a couple of friends will come over to play and have more cake, so I need to get moving because I have a pinata to buy.

Happy Birthday girlie.... we love you.

stupid economy

Last week my husband was on his way down to his company in Florida when he was told to turn around and come home, the company was being investigated. He turned around, and we sat on pins and needles for two more days. Then word came last Wednesday that the entire company was closing, as of 1:00 that day, and employees would be paid through that day. Thank you very much for your service. We were stunned.

Needless to say, that has been at the forefront of our minds for the last week, as Brian begins the job search. Unfortunately there isn't much for him here, so we may have to quickly expand our search. We'll know more in a couple of weeks if we hear from the few companies he has applied to locally. So, in the meantime.....

We have finished painting the moulding in the dining room, and the entry way.... moving on to the library next. I've also started back to school, and need to finish the hemi newsletter (I haven't forgotten it, I've just been in limbo).

We appreciate all of the kindness and concern sent to us through people offering to help get Brian's resume out, and the support shown by friends and family. We live in a great community, and have great friends across this country. We are fine, and we'll continue to be fine, we just wanted to say thank you.

Back to the lake

We are incredibly lucky to have access to our family lake house, and since no one was out there this week, we snuck back out to relax. Tiny house, doesn't matter if sand gets dragged in, no t.v., no computer, cell phones off, stores within driving distance, but really little reason to go. LOVE IT!!!! So, I'm totally stealing the pictures Brian took this weekend. We took a blow-up kayak that the girls took out in the cove, and then figured out that they could stand up in and jump out/tip each other over - way more fun.
The little girls are wearing life jackets because they jumped off the dock so much and swam in, and they were totally exhausted, but nothing could make them stop. More pics tomorrow.... blogger isn't behaving.
