Violin competition

T-Rex participated in a competition with her orchestra class. The students played two pieces and were judged.

When we arrived at the high school hosting the competition we could hear her class warming up. What thrilled me was that the teacher wasn't leading them, the kids were doing it themselves. I love when students are independently motivated.

Kids were standing all around the art room in small groups playing together, with some reminding all of them to slow down, and watch the tempo. Every now and then the teacher would interject something, but I was very pleased that the students were motivated to do it themselves.

We don't know the final results yet, but in listening to a few other schools they sounded very good for first year orchestra students.
